MSpencer > May 17, 2008 Inside a Balloon!

6 am finds me at a balloon fest. Over 60 balloons were lifting and sailing through the Colorado skies. It was a beautiful sight. I was able to get this shot from the inside point of view while the owner was prepping for lift off. Pretty cool to see it this close up from start to finish! This is just one of many shots I took that can be found in my balloon gallery.
MSpencer > May 16, 2008 Life's Many Layers

This is a photo that I quickly took tonight from my back patio. I didn't do anything to this picture except to crop out a rooftop that showed up in the corner (those dang houses blocking my views). The mountains here look different day by day, hour by hour....ever-changing.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
MSpencer > May 15, 2008 Dave's Glowing as he Enters his 40's

Today is my husband's REAL birthday (yes, bdays go on for weeks in our house). These were the candles on top of his ice cream cake.

Thanks to fellow SmugMugger Michael Beaty who shared with me how to do glowing edges in PS. Thanks!
MSpencer > May 14, 2008 Hiking on a Frozen Lake

Since I have been housebound (still sick) I decided to use this photo, taken by my husband (thanks Dave) of my daughters and I on my Mother's Day hike on Lake Bear up at Rocky Mountain National Park. Strange to think that once the lake thaws, these rocks will be under water. An almost mile hike on frozen water is pretty cool though...literally!

Thanks for all your well wishes for me to get well! :)
MSpencer > May 14, 2008 Life is a Highway

Life's like a road that you travel on
When there's one day here and the next day gone
Sometimes you bend sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your back to the wind
There's a world outside every darkened Door
Where blues won't haunt you anymore
Where the brave are free and lovers soar
Come ride with me to the distant shore

We won't hesitate break down the garden gate
There's not much time left today. -Rascal Flatts

Some of the lyrics from Rascal Flatt's well-known song. Wasn't able to post yesterday because I was in bed sick all day...felt like I had been hit by a bus while taking this shot! Feeling a bit better today...a bit. Tomorrow will be better I hope! At least I am able to sit up today and eat something. :)
MSpencer > May 13, 2008 Feeling a Bit Sappy Today

I took this on my Mother's Day hike up at Rocky Mountain National Park yesterday. I liked how the light touched the freshly cut tree and made the sap glisten.
MSpencer > May 11, 2008 Happy Mother's Day

I spent my Mother's day hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. When I saw this sign, I realized that both Dave and I are very far away from our moms who are both in Florida at sea level. Wish we were all on the same elevation!
Love you both! Happy Mother's Day!
MSpencer > May 10, 2008 Manic Light Show

I am still posting shots from my Florida trip that I like. This one is in Downtown Disney and my friends' kids are spinning their new light toys. Ryan's isn't quite as steady as Gabriella's but when you're three, trying to bang your light on your sister is pretty fun!
MSpencer > May 9, 2008 Leave Your Heart in the Sand

This is a photo I took of my daughter while we were in Florida. It was her idea to create a heart in shadow with her hands.
MSpencer > May 8, 2008 Carousel of Life

"Come join me on the carousel of life
Let yourself spin freely and enjoy the ride
Because you never know how long you've got
Before the ride is over
And the spinning stops." -Melissa Spencer
MSpencer > May 7, 2008 Photo with a Friend

Here I am with my new photographer friend. As you can see, he's quite large. He was with his entire family, including several dogs. They are in one of my galleries under birthdays and holidays (Orlando folder).

I like the idea a fellow smugmugger suggested about ps him taking my picture. I'll have to try and figure that one out since I am still a novice ps.
MSpencer > May 7, 2008 A Finely Put Together Photographer

This fine fellow is part of a Lego family that resides in Downtown Disney in Orlando, Florida. He is made up entirely of legos. Pretty cool. I thought I'd capture him since I am surrounded by photo taking opportunities in Orlando. I think I have averaged 200 photos a day...at least.

I am leaving this afternoon and heading back to Colorado. I didn't have a connection in Orlando so I missed some postings. Can't wait to catch up!
MSpencer > May 2, 2008 Happy Birthday Dave!

Today my posting is a message to my husband written in the sand.
MSpencer > May 1, 2008 Florida Palm Tree

I am here in sunny Florida!
MSpencer > April 30, 2008 Stylin' Studio

Okay...so here is the new studio up and functioning. My daughter Amanda is being dramatic and helping me with the lighting...which by the way is the hardest part. I didn't like how drab this picture was since it was taken with my little point and shoot so I added a little spunk to it in ps.

I will be leaving for Florida tomorrow so I am hoping to get my dailies in while I am away. I will have computer access the entire time but not sure about having a wifi connection. If not, I'll "see" all of you when I get back!
